The last time I bought a balloon was for my sweet sister-in-law. When I asked her what she wanted she replied "just a balloon". I think she was kidding when she said it but I took her serious. Her birthday was a week later. I think time made her forget the conversation. The look on her face was perfect when she remembered her request. What a simple gift that was! And cheap. But, her appreciation was priceless.
